Lady Tech Darlene Lewis, founded Future Network Productions in 1989 as a Borough of Manhattan Community College student majoring in business mgmt. Darlene was the poetry editor of Horizons Newspaper. While at BMCC she was a part of the ENG (Electronic News Gathering) club which created the first student run tv studio at the college. After graduating, Darlene then went on to do a semester at John Jay College which led her to attend City College of New York, where she was the Vice President of Students for Arts Media Education, a tv studio that she ran with Lahh Woods and Austin Phillips. Austin would be the cowriter of the hit hiphop classic produced by Dame Dash, Paid in Full. Darlene became the president of Evening Student Government after the terrible tragedy celebrity basketball game where the original president was accused of not properly charging Sean Puffy Combs enough money to pay for security. All of which was a lie. Read more about it in the book HIPHOP BEFORE THE BLING. Darlene created the screenplay MELISSARELLA which was shown at the Soundstage at the Apollo Theater. Darlene was also the Editor of Night Watch Newspaper, created the Evening Student Government Calendar and scholarship Future Network Productions managed comics, singers, producers in the late 80's until 2004. After deciding that the real artist was the creator of the company, Darlene focused on her degree subject, which was communications. Being one of the first female producers/hosts of music video cable talk shows in the early 80's, while on Goldies's Hot Raps, First Exposure and later On Broadway from 1985 to 1991, Darlene began creating tv shows again in 2004: Celebrity Showcase, Harlem Stoop talk, GOTM, Hip-Hop Cook off the Hook, Real Ladies of Harlem, Lewis and Clark Urban Discoveries (HEALTH). Future Network Productions created High Tech and High Heels initiative (web site design for small businesses and individuals, and app creation. Darlene is the affiliate of Popl which promotes digital business products.
